Call for abstracts
DANVA, FIWA, Norsk Vann, Samorka and Svenskt Vatten invite all water professionals with an interest in wastewater, sewerage and climate change mitigation and adaptation to submit abstracts at NORDIWA 2025. We welcome experts and practitioners, managers and operators, city planners, researchers, engineers, advisors and others with an interest in wastewater management, urban drainage and climate adaptation in the Nordic region.
Submission of Abstracts
Practical information
Abstracts shall consist of maximum 450 words, an optional figure and be written in English.
The deadline for submission of abstracts is 31. January. The abstracts should be submitted on www.nordiwa.no, with links being made available November 1st. The Programme Committee selects the abstracts, and the authors are informed in March 2025. Authors of the selected abstracts must submit a presentation by mid August.
The conference contains full presentations, workshops and speed talks followed by an open discussion. Presentations will be published in a digital format and are distributed to the participants at the conference. The conference language is English.
The NORDIWA programme committee can recommend articles to be published in the IWA publication Water Practice & Technology.

Venue
The conference will be held at Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel in Oslo. Soak up the mesmerizing views of Norway’s capital city from this 22-stories high hotel, offering beautiful views of both the capital itself and the nearby fjord. Oslo Central Station is a 20-minute walk from the hotel. From the Central Station you can go by bus or tram to the hotel.
Young Water Professionals
A special session will be organized for Young Water Professionals in the Nordic Region.
Technical Tours
As part of the conference 7 technical tours will be organized. All tours take place on Thursday, 25 September.
